Mentor Monday: Matt's Experience

Rand and I have been matched for over a year now. My journey with him has been such a positive connection since the start. Stepping into the realm of R.O.P. (Rite of Passage) and the Success Journey Program, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Once our group was over and Rand and I were matched, I was humbled by the opportunity, structure, and support Friends for Youth offered us. I really don’t know which one of us has received the greater blessing from FFY; it’s been a life-changing opportunity. Rand has graduated from High School, obtained his license, and will be leaving to join the Marines in November, 2010. Upon his departure he has suggested that I go through another Success Journey Group to mentor a new mentee and when he completes his service to our country, he wants the opportunity to join the Success Journey Program as a mentor, too!
