Mentor Monday: Jessica's Experience
We had a great day! This was her first pedicure and she seemed to really enjoy it. They even painted little flowers and put rhinestones on her toes! At the end of the day we had slushies together at Sonic and she opened up a little to me about the case and her dad and we just had an open discussion without getting too deep or upset. It was great! Although I don't take pleasure in her terrible circumstances, I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to finally be able to do what I've been wanting to do for over 10 years now! I am finally getting to use the things I have learned, and am still learning, through college. Thank you for the encouragement and kind words...and most of all your prayers. Before she left town I wrote down my favorite memory verse for her: "What time I am afraid I will trust in Thee." Psalm 56:3. I hope it brings comfort to her as it has for me--I learned it when I was in early elementary school and still use it to this very day! Yes, this is definitely a God thing for more reasons than can even be listed. The more time we spend together, the more we find that we have in common. There are some things in life that can not just be considered coincidences!!
