Thrifty Thursday: Fall Festivals!

There are no shortage of free (or almost free) festivals in Hampton Roads.  Get your mentee out in this beautiful cooler weather!

Military Families - Fort Eustis Fall Festival (Newport News)

Activity: Festivities will kick off with a Samba Parade and then continue with Jujitsu demonstrations, workshops and fun children's activities. Music and dance is featured throughout the day on the main stage with a headlining Brazilian band.

Hunt Club Farm Harvest Fair (Virginia Beach)

Neptune Festival (Virginia Beach)

Cost: Varying costs for individual activities

Activity: Hampton Roads' most beloved family festival is filled with more than 100 creative and interactive activities, storytelling, hands-on workshops and educational displays, cultural experiences, arts and crafts, costumed characters and more! Then visit the multiple exhibitions and activities that are sure to get the creative juices flowing. The entire family is sure to have a great time as they share in the fun, food and festive celebrations that bring the whole family and Hampton Roads' community together at the Virginia Children's Festival. Landstown Common's Fall Festival & Costume Swap (Virginia Beach)

Activity: Each October the festival vibrates with the fun of a new kid-friendly theme (this year meet your favorite Super Hero!) while vendors have as much Halloween candy and treats for the kids as their tables can hold.

Activity: Carnival games, a bounce house, face paint, and candy candy candy. Listen to praise music while wearing non scary costumes. A bonfire to make smores. First hour for children 0-14yrs. Second hour for high school students.
