A. Tasciana
Q. How long have you been a mentor?
A. Since 3/2012Q. What is the best thing about mentoring?
A. Having the opportunity to reflect on my childhood and become that person I needed when I was younger. Also having the ability to be a positive influence and role model gives me a chance to conquer lifetime goals
Q. What has the biggest challenge been?
A. Figuring out ways to give the best advice possible for any situation. Also it's somewhat difficult to always remain positive around your mentee even when life hands you unwanted gestures (i.e. car problems, financial issues) things we deal with as adults.

Q. What made you become a mentor?
A. I always wanted to give back to my community in a "hands on" way. I didn't have the time since I was in college. After graduating, I thought now would be an ideal time to go for it! One of the best decisions ever!
A. Because you are matched well with someone that you can grow with. This life changing experience humble you and keep you optimistic about your decisions in life.
Q. What was the biggest surprise about mentoring?
A. I never knew an eight year old could make me laugh so hard that my stomach is aching! Also i was surprised that my time that's given can be such a normal day to day routine for me but positively influence someone and give them confidence to conquer anything!
Q. Anything else you'd like to share?
A. Thank you Team Up for everything!

I loved it when Kayla said, "... I was surprised that my time that's given can be such a normal day to day routine for me but positively influence someone and give them confidence to conquer anything!" That is what mentoring is all about. Thank you, Kayla!!
