Reservations are required and can be made by calling the planetarium office at 648-4940 or emailing the planetarium director at charlesf.dibbs@vbschools.com.
The price of admission to all planetarium shows is $3 per person.
Each planetarium show contains the following components:
- Visitors to the planetarium will learn to identify constellations, planets, comets, and other interesting objects currently visible in the night sky.
- Visitors to the planetarium will be briefed on current and news worthy astronomical events and space exploration topics.
- All shows conclude with a professionally produced, high definition digital full dome “show”.
- Visitors to the planetarium can touch giant meteorites that have fallen from the sky. There is even a large fragment of the meteorite on display that gouged meteor crater in Arizona.
- Visitors will view and learn about a variety of spacecraft models that currently explore various regions of our solar system.
- Visitors can learn about the history of astronomy by engaging with the beautiful planetarium mural.
- The Virginia Beach City Public Schools Planetarium, where the sky has no limit!
